How to take this class
Welcome to the virtual CRAFT class!
This course contains synchronous (live, with other students) and asynchronous (at your own pace, independent work) components. You will be completing a series of virtual Zoom class meetings, with additional time to access and complete work in the virtual classroom, to give you both flexibility to complete work on your own time and the benefit of interaction with your instructor and practice with classmates.
Virtual training workshops are kept small so that you can benefit from an interactive and engaging learning environment, please be ready to have your camera on for the duration of class and be ready to participate!
You will log in to the Zoom class on three Friday mornings from 9 am to 12:30pm PST: September 15, 22 & 29, 2023 . The class starts at 9am, Pacific Standard Time and ends at 12:30 PST. Check your email for the meeting ID and passcode.
We will meet three times for live synchronous class sessions. In addition, you will complete the relevant readings and asynchronous recorded videos on EdPuzzle, with embedded quizzes, for a total of 14 CEUs. You will have one month to complete the materials.
Want to get a head start? You can order your copy of the clinician book and start reading whenever you are ready. Want to watch the first video? I recommend starting with "The Initial Session" Part 1&2.
What is CRAFT?
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) is a counseling method designed to help the "concerned significant others (CSO's)" of people with substance use disorders, even those who are refusing treatment.
See what people say about CRAFT.
CRAFT works with the family, creating lasting systemic change without ultimatums or detachment. CRAFT is an effective alternative to traditional "interventions", with two decades of peer-reviewed research behind it. CRAFT can be integrated into your existing therapy practice or family treatment program.
